Ninth Landscape – State Forest

My route mainly passed through the forests of the West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.

West Virginia is a state located in the Appalachian region of the Southern United States and the state is almost entirely mountainous, giving reason to the nickname The Mountain State.

Maryland is a state in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. Among its occasional nicknames are Old Line State, the Free State, and the Chesapeake Bay State. It is named after the English queen Henrietta Maria, known in England as Queen Mary.

Pennsylvania, officially the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, is a state located in the Northeastern, Great Lakes, and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. The Appalachian Mountains run through its middle. Pennsylvania’s two most populous cities are Philadelphia (1,580,863), and Pittsburgh (302,407).
