Third Stage – Death Valley

Death Valley is a desert valley located in Eastern California, in the northern Mojave Desert bordering the Great Basin Desert. It is one of the hottest places in the world along with deserts in the Middle East.

Death Valley is an example of a graben, or a downdropped block of land between two mountain ranges.

Death Valley has a subtropical, hot desert climate with long, extremely hot summers and short, mild winters, as well as little rainfall.

Sailing stones are a geological phenomenon where rocks move and inscribe long tracks along a smooth valley floor without human or animal intervention.
